He has served as an elementary and middle school teacher\, instructional coordinator\, and educator of gifted children. Tom was the gifted education coordinator for the one of the largest districts in Illinois before becoming principal of Thomas Dooley School in Schaumburg\, Illinois\, which won an NCLB Blue Ribbon Award in 2005. Tom was named as the Most Influential Educator (Naperville) and a finalist for Illinois Teacher of the Year. Beyond his service as a public school educator and administrator\, Tom has taught graduate courses at a number colleges and universities throughout the Midwest.\nFor four decades\, he has worked with schools in over 40 states as a Silver Strong & Associates trainer and consultant. Tom has presented for a variety of regional and national conferences\, including the Illinois Science Conference\, Illinois Associated for Gifted Children\, National Staff Development Council\, and Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
